Writer’s Potpourri
Book Hugs, Conferences, Heart Tickles, Marathons, and Hubby's Milestone Birthday!
First, I hope you are having a wonderful summer! It fills my heart to imagine my subscribers and readers out there, each of you with your unique interests, talents, joys, and concerns. I’m sending y’all positive energy!
So, what’s been happening in my humble little life? Here’s some writer’s potpourri…
Book Hugs
Looking forward to signing/selling Unsettled: a memoir in San Antonio at The Twig Book Shop on September 28th!
(Gosh, I wish my face was smaller in this advertisement! I mean, really, no one needs that much of my face.😊)
Anita Farleigh Unpacks, my romantic comedy, is in queue for publication with Boroughs Publishing Group. Originally, it was slated for publication in December/January, but there were unforeseen delays (these things happen). I truly cannot wait for this romcom to come out in the world (but they say patience is a virtue, right?).
Conferences
In June, I went to a couple of writers’ conferences which were informative and invigorating. Inkers Con in Dallas blew my mind in terms of the vast information I received about book marketing, etc. And the Writers’ League of Texas Agents and Editors Conference in Austin was just what I needed for encouragement when I pitched my new romcom to agents and they responded enthusiastically. Writing and publication is a tough business and a little encouragement goes a long way.
More Book Hugs
I’m finishing draft #7 (final draft) of my new romantic comedy novel. I’m super excited about it! There’s laughter, romance, heart-tugging family drama, a hilarious bestie, and a road trip, y’all!
Happy Birthday, Bruce!
Hubby Turns Seventy! That’s A Lot of Rings Around the Old Tree, But He’s Lookin‛ Good!
We had a really fun weekend celebrating his birthday! Everyday, I feel so blessed to have Bruce in my life. I’m a lucky gal!
Marathons
I’m registered for the Austin Marathon in February, 2025! This will be the fourth full marathon I’ve run in the past six years. I am SLOW, but I am STEADY. And, yes, my feet hurt already just thinking about running 26.2 miles again. 😊
Heart Tickles
Just had to include this 1-minute video of me and my pup, Journey, doing agility. She loves it and I love spending time with her in the agility ring. She’s such a sweet girl and, obviously, has a lot of energy!
You've been busy! I can't wait to read the next book. And wishing Bruce a very happy birthday.
Thank you, Janice!
