I hope everyone’s autumn is off to a refreshingly beautiful start! Here, in Texas, we still have temperatures in the upper eighties, but the mornings are now deliciously cool. This means I can no longer use the excuse of excessive summer heat for not putting in those extra running miles to train for the Austin Marathon, which I’ll be running (SLOWLY!!!) in February. Just thinking about it, makes my feet hurt.
But let’s get to the reason you probably opened this newsletter in the first place…puppies! Or, in this case, puppy. This is Francis, my grandpup, when he was just 8 weeks old…Aw! He was a tiny little guy since he’d had Parvo before my daughter and son-in-law adopted him from the shelter (he’s now a strong, healthy two-year-old). Thank you for indulging my trip down memory lane.
Shenanigans
Okay, so maybe what I’ve been up to lately hasn’t exactly been mischievous, high-spirited activity, but I like the word, “shenanigans.” I had a wonderful time teaching a memoir writing class in Round Rock, and selling/signing books in San Antonio (welcome new newsletter subscribers whom I met in the memoir writing class and in San Antonio! And a special shout-out to Celina!), and I attended the Women’s Fiction Writer’s conference in Alexandria, VA. Fun!!!
